In my last post, I shared the news about our new adoption and asked for prayer because we needed the funds for our agency program fee right away. It turns out that there was a little more left in our savings account than I realized, and we had been given a gift from some friends, so we had $2500 of the $3500 that we needed. That was very good news, and we continued to pray that God would supply the rest of what we needed. Then, before I could even update the blog to let people know that good news, some very dear friends of our gave us a gift to cover the remaining $1000!! We have the total amount for the program fee! We are one huge step closer to bringing our daughter home! We are thanking God for His provision and praying that He will provide the funds we need for our attorney fees next. We are hoping to hear soon exactly how much we need for those.
We have been busy this past week working on our seasonal clothing switch-out. We brought all the bins of winter clothes up from the basement, tried everything on, washed it up, put it in drawers, and packed all the summer clothes away. That is one of my least favorite tasks of the year, but it was exciting to see that all of the children have plenty of clothes for this fall and winter. Each of them only needed a few things. Shea is very small for her age, and she and Victoria will be able to wear the same size clothes. Victoria had a lot of fun helping me sort out the clothes and choose which ones would be for her, which would be for Shea, and which ones they could share. She and Shea will be sharing a dresser, and she helped me put all of Shea’s clothes in the drawers. Now she just wants her sister to come home! For a few days, our house was a pretty scary place, but we have most of the clothes put back where they belong. I think by the end of the day tomorrow, everything will be back in its place.
